Purpose of the Position

Under the guidance of the Deputy Representative, the selected incumbent will provide leadership, and be responsible, for the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the cooperation between the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and UNICEF in the education programme. Selected candidate will be responsible for leading strategic thinking, advise management in the area of education, lead the staff in the education unit, while actively promoting equity and gender issues.

Desired Skills and Experience

Education

    Advanced university degree in Education,Primary Education, Human,Culturaland/or Social Sciences, or other related technical field*

    A first level university degree with a combination of relevant academic qualifications and 7 years of experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree

Experience

    Five years of progressively responsible professional work experience at the national and international levels in programmemanagement, monitoring and evaluation or educational Development;

    Knowledge of the education situation and indictors in the context of Islamic Republic of Iran;

    Computer skills, including internet navigation and various office applications;

    Work experience with the UN or other international organizations is an asset.

Language

    Fluency in English and Farsi (written and spoken);
